is distributed with the latest implementation of LATEX (formerly
called LATEX 2e). This new version of LATEX is described in
the 2nd edition of LATEX: A Document Preparation System by Leslie Lamport
and The LATEX Companion by Michel Goossens, Frank Mittelbach and
Alexander Samarin. Both books are published by Addison-Wesley.
A number of important LATEX packages are provided.
The psnfss package makes it easy to switch to PostScript text fonts
instead of Computer Modern.
The graphics/graphicx packages make it easy to include
Macintosh graphic files.
See the documentation and test files in the
PSNFSS and Graphics subfolders in TeX-inputs.
Other common packages are kept in the Tools subfolder.
More information about LATEX can be found in the .tex files
in the LaTeX subfolder.
The LATEX system included with is not a full distribution
(which is way too big for most users).
After installing the base files and the above packages, I deleted all the .ins, .dtx and .fdd files,
as well as a few other files that were irrelevant for users.
If you need a file or package not provided in , then you can ftp it
from any CTAN site or mirror. The following table should help:
